To celebrate the status as a Climate Neutral Company, Equip – the company behind Rab and Lowe Alpine asked outdoor photographer Bernd Ritschel to give two webinars about his “Glaciers of the Alps” project. You are invited.
A couple of years ago I met the very committed outdoor Photographer Bernd Ritchel. It was at an introduction of a new Lowe Alpine Altus backpack in the Alpine Maurach mountains of Austria. On one evening – just after dinner – Bernd talked about the “Glaciers of the Alps” project he was working on. He showed some pictures and it was alarming to see how fast the Alpine Glaciers are melting. I am very pleased that Equip – the company behind the Rab and Lowe Alpine brands asked Bernd to give two webinars to celebrate Equip’s new status as a Climate Neutral Company. The sweet thing is: it is open to everybody to join these webinars.
Webinars in English and German
The webinars will take place on February 18, 6pm CET for the German speaking part of the world and 8pm GMT for the English speaking ones. The webinars will be streamed as a Facebook Live event. All you have to do is follow the links:

About Bernd Ritschel
As a mountaineer and photographer Bernd Ritschel has borne witness to the beauty of the mountains, and to their fragility, for more than 30 years; Bernd’s – who is a Lowe Alpine and Rab ambassador – reflections on the process of creating those images highlights the impacts of climate change, and the need for immediate action more than ever before. If you want to know about Bernd’s work, just hop over to www.lightwalk.de.
Lowe Alpine and Rab community
I have met quite a lot of people that work at or for the Lowe Alpine and Rab brands. One thing that always surprises me is that they are sort of humble about what they do. Yes, they are proud about the new Climate Neutral Company status and they will keep working on getting more sustainable. The ambition to reach Net Zero by 2030 is one of those examples. I have had numerous talks about sustainability and how hard it is to work towards being a more sustainable outdoor brand. And that is probably why I like it so much that they want to share Bernds vision with you.
Photo competition
For sure, this gig is about Rab and Lowe Alpine brand awareness too but a brand is nothing if we are not together in trying to at least halt and even try to reverse the impact of climate change. And since we all like competitions, Bernd’s slide show will kick-off a photo competition focusing on memories of mountains and glaciers. The winners of the competition will be hand picked by Bernd and the Equip team and will be publicly shown in an exhibition. For more information on the competition visit https://www.facebook.com/rab.equipment/ and https://www.instagram.com/rab.equipment
I hope you will join the webinars and you will be as impressed as I was in that mountain hut two years ago. I know I will join the English webinar.
