A few more days and then the time has come: the ‘Bergsportdag’ of the Dutch Climbing and Mountaineering Association in the NBC in Nieuwegein. And of course I am there too. I give lectures and have my own stand. Hope to see you!
The ‘Bergsportdag’ Mountaineering Day of the NKBV has become a household name on the Dutch hiking calendar and is the start of a new hiking season. That the NKBV is often associated with climbing is not surprising considering the name, but the vast majority of the NKBV members – around 63,000 – are hikers. And although I sometimes climb, I am really a hiker.
Booth Nr 13
Because of the close cooperation with the NKBV – I write articles and reviews for them and give clinics – I am of course also present with my own stand. Not a fancy one, but I bring enough stuff with me to talk with you for hours. And coincidence does not exist: I have booth number 13! So if you have any questions about shoes, tents, clothing, backpacks, bicycles or would you just like to talk to me about our shared passion: come and see us! Or visit one of the workshops that I give.
Workshops
As in previous years, the NKBV asked if I would like to give a number of workshops there again.
- 11:30 Workshop Clothing in the Mountains. Herein the latest state of affairs about waterproof and breathable clothing and of course I will elaborate on the three-layer system.
- 12:30 Workshop Walking with trekking poles. I am talking about different types of poles, how to determine the correct length and I give some walking technique tips.
- 15:15 Workshop How do I adjust my Backpack and how to properly adjust your backpack.
- Each workshop lasts half an hour, but afterwards there is time enough for specific questions about the workshops or about other topics.
Program
In addition to my workshops, there are many other workshops and lectures for (mountain) walkers, climbers and trail runners. And of course you can also climb. Furthermore, the latest outdoor trends and the latest developments in the field of mountaineering equipment are shown. For the full program click here Very positive I also think that the Bergsportdag is 100% climate neutral. Because the NKBV considers sustainability to be of paramount importance, the theme of sustainability is also reflected in the lecture and workshop program.
