Right on Black Friday, Bas Buitensport – the outdoor shop in Wageningen, The Netherlands – launches the Second-hand Opportunity Weeks. A super nice sustainable initiative that deserves at least as much attention – if it is up to me – as that Black Friday.
The ‘Tweedehands Buitenkans Weken’ that translates into ‘Secondhand Opportunity Weeks’ is a fantastic initiative by Ilonne Bongers of Bas Buitensport who previously organized the Secondhand Sundays. Her goal is that we deal more sustainably with our disused outdoor gear and give it a second life with another outdoor enthusiast.

Tweedehands Buitenkans Weken
This first edition of the Tweedehands Buitenkans Weken will be held from 19 to 30 January 2021. During the Tweedehands Buitenkans Weken, you can browse through the range of second-hand outdoor items in the Bas Buitensport shop during normal opening hours. ‘There is a good chance that someone will find a nice item that can easily go for another round,’ says Ilonne.

Second-hand and samples
The Tweedehands Buitenkans Weken is also the replacement for the successful Secondhand Sunday and will last no less than two weeks instead of one Sunday. In addition to beautiful second-hand items, there are also sample collections and b-choice items from various outdoor brands.
Handing in
Do you have beautiful outdoor items that can easily last a second round? From January 12 you can hand in these items during the opening hours of Bas Buitensport. Ilonne will do her utmost to find a new owner! For all rules and the address, go to www.basbuitensport.nl
