I am on holiday in Sweden with the family and on our travels we always like to visit historic sites. This time we stumbled upon Bennebols Bruk, an old iron forge. Enjoy the video!
Sweden has a rich history on mining iron ore. They have open mines and mines that go deep underground. On our travels we passed the very impressive Dannemora mine. The mine – dating back to 1481 – was the heart of the iron industry in the Swedish district of Uppland. Dannemora provided the raw material for about 20 finery forges.
One of those forges is Bennebols Bruk. We passed it when driving South on nice gravel roads and looking for a nice spot for camping. I always like these abandoned old industrial sites so when my ladies started reading and painting, I made my own version of Abandoned Buildings meets Epic Exploring. I hope you like Vlog #11!
